Welcome to the 2nd quarter edition of the independence insider!

The Editor's Cut of "independence" is now complete! After many long hours of logging footage, viewing takes, making hard decisions and putting together footage into a story; the visual edit is now ready for:
STAGE 2: PickupsWe have approximately 5 more shots in Nebraska that we would like to get before we finish:
STAGE 3: Final Visual EditIn this next phase, the editor and director will go through each edit and make final decisions about timing, transitions and effects. When these decisions are finalized, the movie is handed over to the Sound Director and to the Composer and they begin their work. The visual edit will then go through a final process of visual effects, animation, and color correction.
Sure did! A few of us will be coming to Cozad again this summer for a few days in order to participate in the annual Brews, Bands & BBQ festival on July 9, 2005. At the festival, we will PREMIERE THE INDEPENDENCE TRAILER! We'll also be selling independence t-shirts and hats - in case yours are getting old and scruffy or you need to buy one for a jealous family member who missed out last year. So come on out and see us at the festival in downtown Cozad - we'll be the ones covered in BBQ sauce!
We have added a few more pictures of cast and crew that we were missing. Thanks to all who sent them to us! We're still hoping to put up more whenever we get the chance.
We have also added the "audio & video" page, where you can find links to the media files. Check out the "video of the crew in action" (in QuickTime format). Photography is courtesy NTV and filmed by Marylyn Barnett, music by Matthew Norwood and edited by Margaret Norwood. Coming soon is a compilation of the media stories that ran while we were on location last summer (also courtesy of NTV). Look for it in the next couple of weeks.
We hope to continue building the website as time allows (we don't want to get distracted from making the movie!) so please check back in every now and then. We will begin to highlight the new additions as they go up on the site so that you can keep track of things that are changing!
It's not too late to help! Checks of any amount can be sent to our fiscal sponsor, Nebraska Independent Film Projects (NIFP) on our behalf. Because NIFP is a non-profit organization, all donations are tax deductible.
